A Kingdom Community
Jesus made it clear in the Bible that God is a King and we live as citizens of HIS Kingdom. The Kingdom of God is where God’s will is put into practice. As citizens of this Kingdom, one of our main responsibilities is to change and become like Him both as individuals and as a community. We aim to live out and demonstrate God’s way of living in our day-to-day lives. God is interested in every area of life and never intended church to be just a place you went to on a Sunday morning. So we seek to live in the ways that He prefers - whether that is in the political sphere, our work life, how we spend our money, how we live with and look after each other in society, how we run our families or bring up our children.
Our community life is shaped by following what the Bible explains as God’s way of living, in terms of what we do, think and say. In all areas, we focus on pleasing Him by obeying what He says. In doing so we aim to reveal God’s view and attitudes on morality, politics, human relationships, finances etc through our lives. New Horizons is not the only church in Coventry that has aims and plans like this. We work with other congregations in the city and several other “kingdom” Christian organisations locally, nationally and internationally. We are strongly linked to one worldwide network called Congress-WBN, from where we receive strong support, encouragement and supervision.
